YOU ARE THE PRIMARY ELEMENT OF CHANGE.

Are you in your late 30’s or 40’s and thinking back on how exactly you wound up in the career you are in today? Chances are if you are like me, you took the safe path. You were told to get a job with benefits, a retirement plan and not rock the boat. Work your way up. Move up the corporate ladder. Just work hard and when you are done, retire. Yup, you played it safe and now, you are questioning what you are doing and where you are going?

Let me ask you, do you remember when you were excited about life’s possibilities? When the world was your oyster. You believed you could do anything. Do you ever wonder what happened? When you lost touch with your passions? Have you given up on your dreams?

STOP THE PITY PARTY.
RESTART YOUR PASSION.

Below is a breakdown of the 7 Day Challenge.

Day 1
COMMITTING TO CHANGE

In day one, we will be exploring your commitment to change. We’ll be digging a bit deeper to discover the possible roadblocks you may have put in your way that are preventing you from moving towards your passion and the life you want to lead.

It’s one thing to understand change. It is another to accept a change. Your commitment to change will be sparked by your desire to change.

By attaching our fears and limiting beliefs to our hopes and dreams, eventually over time those hopes and dreams are smothered and that spark fades and the flame is unable to ignite. On day one we will once again start to breath life into that ember and brainstorm ways to re-ignite your passion.

Day 2
TAKING OWNERSHIP

The goal for day 2 is going to focus on is how we can explore why we don’t take responsibility for our lives and what we think could be preventing us from achieving the changes we want to make in our lives? The other aspect that we will explore is whether or not we are being honest with ourselves and the roadblocks that we put in our path to avoid taking responsibility for our lives. Lastly, we will be looking at ways in which we can regain our power of choice by taking ownership, through the choices we make.

Day 3
DEVELOPING AN ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE

The third day will key in on how to develop our attitude of gratitude. We will focus on becoming more aware of the positive aspects of our lives and how easy it is to shift our mindset to one of positivity and gratitude. Being thankful is one of the key ingredients to making sustainable change.

By becoming more attuned to all the “positive little things” in our lives, we open ourselves up to becoming more grateful for what we have instead of the other way around. And we begin to approach our lives with a view of abundance instead of scarcity.

Day 4
GETTING TO KNOW OUR INNER CRITIC

Today will be about emphasizing the need to confront our inner critic and how you can become better acquainted. I will be providing you with an interesting technique to deal with your inner critic.

By developing a deeper understanding of how we can become more compassionate and accepting of ourselves, we can learn to work with our inner critic instead of constantly fighting with it.

Day 5
CULTIVATING CONFIDENCE

Cultivating self-confidence will require you to start stepping outside of your comfort zone and face your fear with the primary goal of overcoming this fear or increasing your courage and confidence.

By leaving your comfort zone and engaging in an activity that challenges your fear,  you will be taking a calculated risk of negative social evaluation, however, you will not be exposed to real danger or long-term negative consequences.

By cultivating your confidence, you will be better equipped to embrace life changes.

Day 6
INCREASING
SELF-DISCIPLINE

Change absolutely requires commitment. It will also call on your self-discipline. You must be prepared to hold yourself accountable.

Remove excuses, remove blame, and accept the challenge. You are in charge of your world. It’s your choice. Your decision.

“You can’t outsource self-discipline.”
– Billy Alsbrooks –

Day 7
PRACTICING PATIENCE

Most of us have forgotten to be patient and get irritated very quickly over minor things like lineups, traffic jams, a baby crying and other external stimuli we are unable to control. Patience is a skill everybody needs to develop. Patience makes us better people.

Having patience means being able to wait calmly in the face of frustration or adversity, so anywhere there is frustration or adversity. The good news is that we can practice patience in nearly every aspect of our lives. We are given endless opportunities to practice.

Are you in your late 30's or 40's and thinking back on how exactly you wound up in the career you are in today? Chances are if you are like me, you took the safe path. You were told to get a job with benefits, a retirement plan and not rock the boat. Work your way up. Move up the corporate ladder. Just work hard and when you are done, retire.

Yup, you played it safe and now, you are questioning what you are doing and where you are going?

Let me ask you, do you remember when you were excited about life's possibilities? When you believed you could do anything. Do you ever wonder what happened? When did you lose touch with your passion? Have you given up on your hopes and dreams? Or, have they simply gone astray.
